The year long journey of WCS Starcraft is now coming to a close with Dreamhack Montreal being the last stop of the circuit. This event is the last chance for any player to win WCS points to secure their spot, or to outright win the tournament and snag a seed, any player who could be there showed up.

So with our enormous roster, we had 10 players participating ; PiLiPiLi, UpATree, Poizon, JonSnow, DisK, Silky, jheffe, Zanster, PengWin and TRUE

All but TRUE had to fight through the bracket stages while the previous WCS Montreal Champion waited patiently in Group Stage 3.

Unfortunately, we took losses early as UpATree, Poizon, DisK, Silky & jheffe all fell in group stage 3. Then, JonSnow & PengWin fell in Group Stage 2 in third and fourth place respectively. Notably, Zanster was able to advance 2nd out of his group after shutting out SpeCiaL 2-0 in a surprising upset.

Thanks to Blizzards perfect seeding, TRUE and Zanster found themselves in a teamkill group while PiLiPiLi was all by his lonesome in Group C. Despite great effort, PiLi was finally defeated 2-0 by DnS in a close series which included a massive blink-stalker basetrade. Meanwhile in Group F with Zanster and TRUE, our korean powerhouse was able to take out teammate Zanster and TLO with decisive 2-0’s.

After a solid 8 hours of playing, 10 entered the arena of competive Starcraft, and only one emerged with their life. Despite great effort and heart, only TRUE was able to survive while the rest of our players were eliminated.

Our journey is still not over, on day 2, TRUE will face off against DnS in the Ro16. His side of the bracket is relatively doable, with his big main threats being Nerchio and Neeb.
