UNITED STATES, January 27, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — (Bethesda, MD, January 27, 2020) American Esports today announced the acquisition of PSISTORM Gaming a premier team competing in StarCraft 2, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm and other games. Founded in 2015, PSISTORM Gaming has achieved both international and domestic acclaim.
PSISTORM Gaming and World of WarCraft
It’s been a few months but this is an official announcement that PSISTORM Gaming has had the pleasure of acquiring a community based esports org by the name of TBD – To Be Determined. This org has a foundation in World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and the FGC. We’re very excited to begin telling the story of this 11 year old team and how their journey has led us to work together for a better future.
We are the first foreign team to have 3 players go through qualifiers and successfully make it to the prestigious GSL Code S tournament for 3 straight seasons!
“While we cannot pick up every player on the team as PSISTORM Gaming’s roster is already very deep, we have come to agreements with Raze, Suppy, Dolan and Hunta. The rest of the players and details to be finalized after PengWin, director of operations, works it out with Travis Yang and Stefan Oliveira, and the remaining players.
Raze was a previous PSISTORMCup champ, and we’ve had close ties with Sloth for years. The owners Travis and Stefan O. have been great supporters of our team as well. I’m excited to see them contribute to our team.”, said KJ “Freeedom”.
Travis “AprilTerran” Yang said “Sloth E-Sports Club has been an ongoing passion project of mine for the better part of the last 8 years. Although letting the team go is sad in many ways, I’m happy that the spirit of the organization, its players, and staff will continue on in PSISTORM. I have a great deal of respect for their team and all they’ve done to support the scene, and I know they’ll continue to do things right. It’s been an immense pleasure working with and meeting so many people from my SC2 adventures, I know that these are memories I will cherish for the rest of my life. I hope to continue doing some hobby projects within the scene, but for now, I’m looking forward to helping with the transition process for our players and staff.”
Stefan “Pengwin” Mott, our director of operations, added: “I’m very excited to welcome our new representatives from Sloth. Raze, Suppy, Dolan and Hunta are all fantastic guys who we know well and who I am confident will represent the PSISTORM family well. I’m looking forward to seeing them reach new heights in the coming year”
From Stefan Oliveira: “The last two years have been an amazing journey. We strived to bring legitimacy to the NA scene, and for the most part accomplished that. Both Travis and I have had many changes in our lives since the onset of 2017 and had met at a crossroads for the 2019 season.
We both have much less time to be involved in the day-to-day caretaking of the team and were looking for a solid fit to perhaps tickle at the idea of an acquisition. There was only one choice that would work during our discussions, and that choice is PSISTORM. After talking it over with KJ, we found this to be the best possible situation for the bulk of our players, and us as owners.
I’m proud to be apart of the PSISTORM family in a limited consultant role and can’t wait to see former Sloth players do well in the upcoming seasons!
Please show your support to PSISTORM as you have Sloth in the past! Thank you!”.
Travis and Stefan O. will be available on advisory and consulting roles for PSISTORM. Stay tuned for more updates.
